The Smithsonian's Museum Support Center in Suitland, Md. was dedicated in May 1983, after two years of construction and a decade of planning. The building, now with two additions, incorporates the latest in museum technology and was designed to provide the optimum conditions for the preservation and study of the Smithsonian's collections.
