Smithsonian marine biologist Carole Baldwin (right) studies fish diversity as part of the Deep Reef Observation Project using deep-sea submersibles to explore tropical deep-reef habitats in Curacao. Baldwin’s research is featured in the exhibition “Living on an Ocean Planet” which opens on Sept. 17, 2013 at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. in celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Sant Ocean Hall.
