Carolyn Russo / Smithsonian Institution
A bronze bust of Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin (with space helmet.) made by artist Aleksei Dmitrievitch Leonov was given to the National Air and Space Museum by the Embassy of Russia and the International Charitable Fund "Dialogue of Cultures-United World." It was presented at a ceremony on April 19, 2016 with Roger Launius, Associate Director of the Museum, and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak of the Russian Federation to the United States.
