A view of where the P. blytheae fossil was found, the Miocene-Pleistocene Zanda Basin, in China. Researchers intend to study the skull of P. blytheae in the context of its surrounding fossils, a diverse collection of ice age cats and other species such as Tibetan antelope and blue sheep, to better understand the importance of prey populations in long-term carnivore survival.
