Regents Issue Report on Exhibition Planning and Practices
The Smithsonian’s Board of Regents convened a three-person panel to review the future of exhibition policies and practices and asked them to report to the full board Jan. 31. Chaired by John McCarter, a member of the Board of Regents and president and CEO of the Field Museum in Chicago, the panel issued a six-page review with a number of recommendations. McCarter was joined by Rusty Powell, director of the National Gallery of Art, and David Gergen, a professor of public service at the Harvard Kennedy School, the director of its Center for Public Leadership and a CNN analyst.
