Update Sept. 8: Because of a change in the performance schedule, Wynton Marsalis will not be able to perform at the dedication ceremony. The Smithsonian apologizes for the confusion.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will attend the opening ceremony of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture Saturday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. ET. President and Mrs. Obama will be joined by former President George W. Bush and Mrs. Laura Bush, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Congressman John Lewis, Smithsonian Secretary David Skorton and the museum’s founding director, Lonnie Bunch.
