Reeve Lindbergh To Speak at Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum

This year’s Charles A. Lindbergh Memorial Lecture at the National Air and Space Museum features Reeve Lindbergh, daughter of Charles Lindbergh, May 18 at 8 p.m. This May marks the 90th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh’s historic solo flight from New York to Paris in the “Spirit of St. Louis.” Lindbergh will honor her parents in her remarks, both of whom had a lasting impact on the world of aviation.

“We’re delighted to have Reeve speak frankly about her parents who, though remarkable aviators and writers to the world, were simply ‘mother and father’ to her,” said Dorothy Cochrane, aviation curator at the museum.

Lindbergh will offer her thoughts on her parents and their writings about their flying adventures as well as share written words of her own. Attendees to the lecture will enter the museum and view the “Spirit of St. Louis” on display in the Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall, just outside of the IMAX Theater where the lecture will be held.

The National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., is located at Sixth Street and Independence Avenue S.W. The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is located in Chantilly, Va., near Washington Dulles International Airport. Both facilities are open daily from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. (closed Dec. 25). Admission is free, but there is a $15 fee for parking at the Udvar-Hazy Center.
